Coincidentally batch #777 just happened to fall on our 7th anniversary, so we took this unique opportunity to brew something different; an English-style Barleywine. Double mashed with 100% English Maris Otter malt and boiled for 7 hours for increased viscosity and depth of flavor, highlighted by the toffee-like caramelization from an exceptionally long rolling boil.

Had on tap at the brewery. This is a big, brawny English barleywine. It's complex with layers of toffee, creme brulee, caramel, and vanilla. You can tell it's a big beer but it's not overly boozy or cloying. Impressive.
