16 oz can poured into a tulip glass. This is a beautiful beer; a chestnut dark brown color (not quite opaque) with a huge, billowing tan head. Aroma and flavor live up to the description of a complex malt bill with notes of toffee, cocoa, and dark bread, with earthy/spicy hops in the background. Impressive amount of flavor for the low abv. Mouthfeel is smooth, creamy, and moderately carbonated, juuust a bit on the thin side (not surprising for the style). Overall this is a home run...except for the price point ($14 per 4-pack). Now if it were in a 6-pack for $10 or $12, that would be a different story.

On Nitro draught at the brewery (Elder Pine, the collaborating brewery)
The best head I’ve seen on a beer in a long time, almost as thick as shaving cream, excellent retention and yields some substantial and random lacing.
The almost black amber pour is very flavorful, dark roasted malt with hints of cocoa, chocolate nibs, dark coffee roasted beans. The body and ABV are light, mouthfeel is pleasant, and the finish is dry.
A very enjoyable English mild dark ale. Very Guinness like, but a little more flavorful.
