Ok, I can't do the 6.7% IPA anymore ...too old. I have been on the lookout for a low to mid 5% beer that tastes like an IPA, pours clear and comes in a 12 pack. Superior Ale is a superb " low voltage" ale. Exactly what I needed. It is branded as a pale ale but I detect some IPA... While most sessions are shit, this beer at 5.5 hits above it's weight and will make my doctor happy

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from the Woodman's in Onalaska, Wisconsin. It poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had bittering hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with crisp malt base with subtle bittering hop presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Can. White head. Clear straw yellow golden color.
Crisp and clean. Easy drinking. Piney, grassy floral. A bit of bready malts but a nice bitterness. Definitely a solid pale ale.

On tap at the brewery and also at home 12oz cans best b4 dated 10/5/21 poured into an imperial pint glass.
L: Pours a nearly clear pale light gold with a thin white head that goes to edge foam. Medium soft carbonation with some skeletal lacing on the glass.
S: Pine, light citrus, very light malt.
T: Pine, grapefruit, lemon rind, light bread malt. It has semi-sharp citrus notes. Bitterness is assertive at first then quickly transforms into a soft pine aura.
F: It has a clean light bodied mouthfeel and drinks like a session ale with a semi-fast and relatively dry finish.
O: A well balanced lighter colored pale ale that is clean, crisp, piney, not too sharp and is easy drinking. This is an absolutely brilliant beer that tastes fantastic.

1/29/21...pours lightly hazed gold with a thin head of white foam. Malty nose. Light straw. Subtle citrus. Mellow malty flavors. Latent bubblegum flavors. Smooth mellow finish. Hidden bitter at the finish. Really tasty.

Pours a nice dark amber with minimal head. Nose is minimal but taste is not a typical pale ale...very smooth with some honey or sweetness in the background. Hops reside quietly in the background, preferring to complement and not dominate this brew. Delicious.

Man. Bookmarking to review later, but I think these could become my go-to APAs. My only hope is this brand becomes easier to find around the twin cities. Solid. As somebody who grew up in the Lake Superior region, I know there is something special about that water.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of toasted bread, toffee and hints of pine. Very malty and toasty with a piney bitterness.

Citrus aroma, perhaps a bit of faint pine. Short slightly off white bubbly head, receding quickly to a ring and cap. Some lacing, disconnected and stringy. Hazy dull orange with plenty of tiny bubbles visible. Mild to slightly sharp citrus taste, no bitterness at all initially or in the middle. Hazy and juicy. A small bittering asserts in the finish and aftertaste, along with the piney taste consistent with the aroma. Mouth feel starts off soft, and then transitions to sharp. This beer is well done and tasty. The brewer's notes for this beer are pretty brief (and tell you nothing), but it seems to me the brewer was going for a NE-style hazy, juicy APA. Regardless, I enjoyed it.
