Hop aromas of pine and berry harken to lakes of the far North. A prominent malt backbone balances moderate hop bitterness. Hold fast.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours deep orange with a small white head. Smells of citrus hops with nice malty background. Tastes of fresh fruit and grain. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

12oz can. Bottom stamp reads '12/21/23 BEST BEFORE', so drinking one day after this end date.
Mostly clear, deep gold colored body. One finger of white head dissipates to a partial fluffy cap and high ring. Leaves behind partial walls of lacing.
Aroma of pine woods and tropical berry, close to pineapple. A little cardboard creeping in. Malty base.
Taste is big with pine resin from start to finish. Lemon and dark berry add in. Resin bitterness in the aftertaste.
More than medium mouth feel, with a touch of pine needle stickiness. Brings on tongue numbness. Very good carbonation.
Just a touch of sweetness from the malt, and a long lasting resin sting.

The color is amber, slightly hazy, looking pretty good. Smell and taste is big malt and pine and lemon. Really smooth, and at the 7.4% you only need one

Appearance: Pours a clear, deep orange color with a strong white head. Visible and suspended sediment floating in the glass. SRM of 10-11. (4.00)
Aroma: Mild aromas of tropical melon, berries, and pine. (3.75)
Flavor: Follows the nose . Moderate flavors of orange citrus, grapeffuirt citrus, bitter stonefruit. This gives way to an underlying tropical and sweet melon and berry flavor. Finishes with a earthy and juicy berry and pine flavor. Moderate earthy pine bitterness. (3.75)
Feel: Medium to heavier bodied. Well-carbonated. A full mouthfeel, but nicely light and soft on the palate. (3.75)
Compared to Sierra Nevada Powder Day IPA 5/2/22: Pours lighter, stronger head. Stronger aromas. More tropical berries and pine. Less orange and citrus. Slightly darker, more flavorful.
to Bells Two Hearted Ale 5/17/22: Pours similar, milder aromas. More earthy berry sweetness. Less caramelized and stonefruit flavors.
Overall: A really nice midwest IPA here. Nice tropical berry and earthy pine flavors. Earthy and malty. A nice and full mouthfeel without being too sweet. Hits all the marks for a midwest IPA. The flavors, earth, pine, malts, and bitterness are right on. For a midwest, Wisconsin IPA, I'd say this one is pretty good (Rating: 3.94)

1/25/21...semi-cloudy copper and thick white-like foam that tops it off. Berry filled nose, hints of pine admidst the obligatory maltiness. Taste opens sweet, bready and berry filled. Quick sharp pine bitter bite at the end. Crisp finish. Really tasty. Real good.

Bought a sixer during a weekend up north of Duluth, and this is the last 12 oz can...says best by 1/21/21...into a tulip, very good head, decent retention, good lacing. Nose is bready malts, some nondescript piney hops. Taste is a little more interesting...some berries, some herbs, and woody/earthy notes to add to the nose, but the finish is a little off, herbal that is in danger of ending up as cardboard. Carb is a little on the low side. Ok, some interesting potential...in the execution a little flawed, though still ok. Obviously, there are better ipas out there.
