Earth Rider and the Duluth Coffee Company teamed up to craft this cold-press coffee pale ale. Aroma and flavors of herbs, spice, berry, cocoa, roast, and wood. Hop bitterness is restrained with coffee providing much of the bite sought in a pale.

From a 12oz can. Best by 04/03/2026
This beer has a darker golden color to it. Fairly clear and bubbly looking. There's a 3 finger white head to this beer that has decent retention, but minimal lacing on the glass.
The aroma has a nice strong coffee scent. Very roasted smelling.
The flavor has a bit of coffee flavor, but way less than the nose let on. There's a roasted element to the coffee flavor. I do get some biscuit notes up front.
The body is bubbly and sticky feeling. Decent depth.
Tasty beer overall.

draught
Light golden orange appearance. Interesting 70% coffee, 30% medium toast malt aroma. Pretty good coffee and light roasted grain flavors. Finishes with more coffee than malt and with a bite.

Day 10 of the Advent calendar 2020.
It looks good in the glass, but there's a troubling aroma of coffee on the nose, wafting everywhere.
One sip confirms it-- it tastes like stale coffee grounds smell. Dirty water.
What a waste; the underlying pale ale was trying to get out, but the coffee beans rendered this beer undrinkable.

Day 10 on the Beer Advent Calendar
Was a bit concerned about this one. While I love coffee, I like it where it belongs, in coffee cups. However I now have an exception. Scent was certainly of coffee and hops and I was worried it would have an overpowering coffee flavour. This was not the case. The coffee was there but it was expertly balance with sweetness and hops plus a slight bitter end. A tough beer to try and make and they pulled it off well.

12oz can. No dating information found. 2019 GABF Gold Medal recipient for 'Coffee Beer'.
Cloudy, deep gold colored body. Light off white head upon pour, which settles to a partial cap and ring. Leaves behind a few spots of lacing.
Aroma is heavy with light roasted coffee beans, with a little background of toasted malt and mild hops.
Taste is led by the what seems like green coffee, made more complex by slightly spicy hops and a malt base. Ranges from mildly sweet to a touch of bitter at the end (as the coffee blends back in).
Medium mouth feel. Smooth texture. Very good carbonation.
It's a pale ale made more complex with the blending of coffee.

Pours a slightly hazy pale golden colour. Smells like green coffee beans, crisp, and slight pale malts, but noslty light coffee. Tastes light, crisp, slightly sweet, light coffee, faint bitter finish.
