March 2022 update: 8.3% ABV is year. It's tasting good but not as good as last year.
March 2021 update: I bought a 32 oz crowler at Growler Guys in Eau Claire
This one tastes much fresher than last year and it tasted better. I changed My rating numbers.
taste: caramel, plum, stone washed dark fruit, spice. The spice flavor is similar to what Augustiner Maximator has.
My notes from July 2020:

tested from a 32oz crowler bought at cedar lounge tap room , canned 6/9/2020, drank 7/27/2020 brewed about 6 months ago.
Look: transparent dark Redish amber body, ok fine head,a little foamy but dissipates rather quickly. Leaves some lacing.
smell: toasted bread, sweet malt
Taste: Sweet, smooth, stone wash dark fruit, caramel/toffee, a touch of bread. Maybe a little bit of burnt or roasted Toffee. ABV is well hidden but you can tell there is plenty of alcohol there underneath , almost cloying sweet.
Fell is good, decent body not great but not thin.
A Solid beer, I wonder if it was better fresher or with a fresher canning. I like it.

L-Auburn colored with ruby highlights. Nice little light brown creamy head.
S-Toasted caramel with hint of chocolate.
T-Rich malt. Toasted caramel, dark fruits (plums), and a hint of cocoa.
F-Very clean drinking and not cloying. Upper medium bodied. Or perhaps light side of heavy bodied.
O-This is a phenomenal doppelbock. One of the best American made doppels I've had. Reminds me a little of the old Capital Dark Doppelbock from back when Capital was one of the best breweries around. Don't know if they still brew that one but I doubt it's the same based on the putrid recent ofest I had from Capital.
