On draught at the brewery.
A Cask pour with a translucent dark ruby/tea color, and a thick medium/high density head with high retention that produces rings of lacing.
Has a pleasant nose with soft cherry and bread aspects.
Delicious amber malt, biscuits, dark sour cherry notes, hint of earthiness.
Soft, creamy, full bodied mouthfeel with smooth velvety viscosity. The anticipated booziness is well masked and absorbed by the other flavor aspects.
An interesting and somewhat unique English Strong Ale, very good.

16 ounce cask pour into a tumbler pint glass at the brewery.
No sparkler used.
A good looking cask pour. The bone-white head tops one inch and the tight creamy foam is long lasting. As the mostly clear red-amber body recedes, intricate tiers of lace are left behind.
The malty sweet nose is fairly strong with a dominant sour cherry aroma. A sour dough-like dark bread aroma is also present with a more generic dark dried fruit note. Malt forward and medium sweet, dried black cherry as well as fig and caramel flavors are somewhat balanced by earthy and woody hops that tighten things up at the finish. Bitterness is low and it is only mildly boozy. The medium weight body is smooth and creamy with some oaty viscosity and low (natural) carbonation. It finishes with some warmth.
Very nice. Definitely English in character and it drinks rather easy for 9.5% ABV.
