16 oz pours at the brewery 9/27/24 while making music in the bier garden.
L: This Pils has a slightly murky look to it, not hazy or thick looking, just not totally clear. It has a thin white head that goes to edge foam, light carbonation but certainly not flat, medium random lacing.
S: Some malts and an earthy note. Simple and not so expressive.
T: Tastes like an old-world beer. Like, an old, very old recipe. Malty, earthy hops, grains, a caramel note, gently sweet, mildly complex. It has a slightly large taste.
F: Brisk, not really crisp, medium bodied feel with a gently soft center and a medium length lightly drying finish.
O: Quite tasty, easy to drink, and has a "handmade with care" kind of taste to it. Slightly complex but not over-brewed for lack of a better term. I would like to have this beer on tap again & again. It is very good in its style.

tested from a fresh crowler canned two days ago (9-23-2020)
It seems different than the last time i had which was maybe a year ago.
tastes better after it warms up slightly
Taste: Slight sweet malt, bread, grain, A little floral hops. But then a astringent bitter grassy flavor than lasts a while. It carries for a fairly long after taste. I don't remember it being like that before.

Excellent pilsner aroma, if not too strong. Bready with notes of sweetness.
Beautiful looking beer. Clear bright gold with highly active carbonation, below a 3/4 inch white, thick head with good retention, leaving nice looking lacing. Gorgeous in the footed pilsner glass.
Taste retains the bready malts with the bit of sweetness, and adds a floral, slightly spicy flavor. The initial flavor mild to lightly bitter, with a well-controlled bitterness growing in the middle and continuing into the crisp/sticky finish and aftertaste. The bitterness does tend to grow a bit as you drink, but it is always within bounds.
The body is moderate to a bit sticky, leaving a pleasant coating in the mouth. Nicely effervescent.
Overall, an excellent pilsner.

L: bright golden amber under a lacy 2" off-white cap with good retention.

T: clean, rich malts up front, light grainy sweetness, assertive earthy, spicy hop accent on the crisp, dry finish.
F: Creamy, medium body, very soft, medium carbonation.
O: A big flavored pilsener with an assertive hop presence. Very drinkable and repeatable.

A really enjoyable pils. Very clean, not very dry, but finishes nicely with a slight hop bite. Certainly enough there to keep me interested if I wanted more than a single pint.

This pills has depth. Unfiltered with nice slightly sweet malt and no bite. Almost a wet pills. Was surprised to see low scoring on this one. I can see a purist comparing this to German pills and finding fault. But let your senses rule and enjoy.

not quite as much of a classic german pils as i was expecting from these guys, who have taken note of every possible detail including the wood stoves they use to heat the place, i was expecting something a little more conventional, more in line with what i am used to from some of the most traditional imports, but thats not really the case here. this is a fuller bodied take on the style, with a little more color to it than a lot of these have, well refined still, but also somewhat rustic as they go, which is to say its not so dumbed down or overly cleaned up, which are favorable attributes to this. my brother loved it, reckoned it was one of the better pils types hes had all year. i was a little less enthusiastic, finding it a little bit bready rather than crackery, like the substance makes it a bit more dense and even sweet for a second, its heartier than i am used to, and probably not a beer i could spend all day drinking on for that reason. the malt flavor and weight is personal preference, but what we could agree on is that this yeast is awesome. it does taste more classically german than the rest of the beer does to me, patiently fermented and conditioned, tending to crisp up the finish, dry the beer out nicely, and add a floral sort of earthiness and mineral profile to this that i think really gives it its character. good carbonation here and a pretty clean finish for how unique this is earlier on. not my favorite of the beers we had in here, but i highly recommend checking this place out if you havent yet, its one of a kind!
