Crowler Jan 2025
L: has the color of a raisin in the sun and has a thin white head that recedes to edge foam, light carbo, light lacing.
S: brown bread, dark fruits, raisins, dates.
T: lightly sweet caramelized malts, toffee, brown bread, a hint of some slightly dark fruits, a nuance of cookie dough.
F: smooth and easy drinking medium-light bodied mouthfeel with a medium-fast finish.
O: Very tasty, kind of bready and easy to drink. It hits all the marks well. A real tasting dark beer that is excellent in its style.

Relatively subdued but rich aroma. Toasted bread. Chocolate. Nutty.
Deep, dark, ruby body. Clear with ample carbonation. 1 inch chocolate shake colored head, with very fine bubbles and good retention.
Very good flavor. Repeated from the aroma is the toasted bread, in fact, a little roasty or even smoky. Underneath the roastiness are dark fruits (raisins), chocolate. The hops brighten it up a bit to offset the mild sweetness of the malts. Some spice. As with the taste, the flavor is rich, satisfying, and complex. A slight bitterness builds in the mouth as you drink.
Mouth feel is smooth and creamy.
Overall, another well-done beer from Waldmann in a German style. Rich, flavorful, roasty and toasty.

Had on tap. This one sneaks up on you a little bit. Smells is smoky, with bready malts, dark fruit, slight banana, and rye. Taste is the sneaky part, starts with the smoke, dark fruit, slight dark chocolate, but then the hops sneak up to bring about a bready and slightly hoppy finish. Feel is a little jagged, but otherwise all the main pieces are there and well done
