A corked & caged bottle from the brewery shared into shaker glasses.
L: SRM 34 Pours very dark brown with a 1/2" creamy khaki head that has OK retention, low carbo, medium-light random sticky lacing.
S: Heavy dark dried fruits like fig, prune, date, plum, raisin, sweet caramelized malts, cereal grains, brown bread, a suggestion of hot buttered pecan caramel roll topped with dried dark fruits.
T: Taste follows aroma very closely plus toffee, gently woody, light notes of bourbon.
F: Very smooth heavy bodied mouthfeel with a medium-long length finish.
O: A remarkable tasting beer. Pure, unmolested beer. Very malty, moderately sweet, good bready notes and a very smooth feel. Drinks very easily and there's no alcohol burn or aroma. On par with any big name German Doppelbock. It is world-class in its style.
