HELLES RAUCHBIER IS A FRANCONIAN STYLE SMOKED LAGER SPECIFICALLY FROM THE AREA OF BAMBERG. FEATURING DELICATE BEECHWOOD SMOKE CHARACTER BALANCED WITH SWEET BREADY MALT. UNLIKE THE MORE INTENSE DARK SMOKED LAGERS, THIS BIER IS LIGHT BODIED, CRISP, REFRESHING AND OFFERS GREAT BALANCE BETWEEN THE HERBALNESS OF HOPS AND AROMATICS OF SMOKED MALT.

Appearance: slightly hazy yellow, good head.
Smell: light bready aroma.
Taste: Light sweetness then breadiness, very light wisp of smoke. Light bodied, easy drinking helles.
Overall: Had to try the smoked beer at Waldmann, especially since I was already in the area. This is barely smoked but the helles is made well and tasty. So slightly disappointing for the smoked beer lover in me, but a tasty beer nonetheless.
