Late Hopped Blonde Ale

Had it on cask at the Greenwich Union Pub, the brewery tap of the Meantime Brewery. This beer seems to be the only regular real ale on cask and served by handpull, to add to the whole army of their 7-8 continental style beers on tap.

A: pours a pale amber hue, slightly hazy, with extremely low carbonation--looking normal.
S: the smell upfront is softly sweetish citrusy--grapefruit-peel+dried orange-rind, accompanied by very mildly caramel with a touch of spice. The hop aroma is quite mixed and pleasant, the work of mixing Cascade, Perle and Goldings altogether.
T: besides juicy pale malts and lots of sweetish grapefruit zesty flavour upfront on the palate, a slightly wheatish grainy taste also comes through decorated with a touch of salt; slightly sharp or tangy finish, seeing zesty and flowery hops surrounding the mouth and good amount of bitterness of hops hiding underneath the palate well towards the very end.
M: refreshing and lively mouthfeel, while remaining firm on the tongue and spiced up with a tangy sting in the long aftertaste.
D: a very good quality beer this is, and the brewery describes it as a "light version of Meantime IPA" which I pretty much agree with, that it's lighter in body and hop presence, and milder in overall flavour, but still very delicious and even more drinkable. Compared to the filtered bottled version made for Sainsbury's, the real thing on cask is way more lively and complex, while it's also available in bottle-conditioned version (330ml-brown balsamic vinegar-like bottle~~) available at the pub as well as at ASDA supermarkets now--got to try it to see if it can beat the REAL thing on cask.

Pours with a light yellow body, slightly bubbly head, soon disappates, little retention, little lacing

Smell, floral and hoppy although tame and very mild

Taste, crisp hop bite, not the hop monster it describes itself as, very faint and when compared with american IPA's, golden ales or even pale ales it tastes diluted, hop oil finish on the palette

An acceptable ale, not great by any means, a hoppy beer with few hops, tastes more like a slightly hoppier lager

Pours a bright golden colour with a huge bubbly white head, that disperses to a thin film.

Aroma is very hoppy and malty with citrus fruits, cut grass, bananas and apricots.

Taste is very malty and hoppy also, with biscuity citrus tones that reminded me of apricot jam tarts.

Mouthfeel was nice, but maybe slightly too gassy. Drinks very well.
