Tasting notes from middle of 2018.
L- Like Coke. This tan head that holds well.
S- Campfires, toasted raisins, vanilla, Xmas pudding.
T- Toasty, smokey, bonfires, pudding.
M- Rich, rounded, spicy, easy 'heavy' drinking.
O- Wow, yeah, spiced porter! This is like a serious winter warmer, Something I'll happily buy again.
BB: 12/18. 500ml bottle.

Note added: October-2021. This has just re-appeared in our local branch. Same name/ABV% etc., just the lable is a much more festive purple and gold.

Bottle

Pours dark ruby when held up to the light. Bright. Tan head

Aroma of Morgan's and coke, some angustura bitters there

Cinnamon really obvious in taste, too much for me. Some bitterness, dryish finish.

I like cinnamon on doughnuts and dessert, not so much in a beer. This does what it says on the bottle though

Bottle. Very dark chestnut colour. Frothy head which diminishes to a wispy layer.
Spicy aroma. Cloves and cinnamon. Some toasted malt...
....which continues into the flavour. Other Christmas spices become apparent. Allspice. Dark rum and coke.
Medium carbonation and feel.
Better than many winter offerings around.

This has been in my cellar for a year and was open today, Christmas Day. It pours dark brown colour with a beige head, which leaves lacings. Aromas of spice, dark fruits & hints of toffee. Taste also has spice, along with dried berries & dark fruits, cinnamon, toast & earth notes. The finish has a mild bitter end with grains, dark berries, cinnamon and hints of spice.
Overall this is a beer that grows on you the further you get down the glass.

Completely agree with EmperorBevis review. My scores are higher basically because I really enjoyed this beer.

cola coloured body spotty off white head
Aroma of spiced rum and cinnamon cocoa
Big spiced rum flavour too with cola
Easy drinking lets say rather than thin
a bit of a curio, more a dark taste than a winter warmer
