London 5/7 2019. 44 cl on draft at Balls Brothers. Pours unclear orange with a small white head. Settles as thin layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.

Moderately intensive aroma. Fruity sweet with Peach and pear. Very light citric overtones. Light touch of caramel from the malt.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, Soft, creamy, Smooth texture.

Flavor is medium sweet followed by a medium bitterness. Citric. Aftertaste is lightly bitter. Lingers for a bit. Finish semi-dry.

An almost gentle and smooth IPA. Runs down easily on a friday afternoon.

Bottle, RBESG 2005 Grand Tasting. Deep golden colour. Pleasant hoppy aroma (my wild guess would have been Cascade and Chinook, but apparently it’s just "pound upon pound of Fuggles & Goldings", so what do I know - it smells good anyway). Refreshing hoppy flavour, reasonably well balanced. Not the most bitter IPA around, but bitter enough for me. Nice.

L- Pours clear, the colour is dark old gold, and it has a 3mm just off-white ultra-fine bubble head that's holding well - ps. and continues to do so very well, even 15 minutes later.
S- It has some richness, hints of pungency, but I must have congestion (again) as at 7.4% outside summer this should be singing to me. (I x-checked with my wife, she said the smell reminds her of Tripel Karmeliet a Belgian Tripel which packs a punch).
T- Ok wow, no problem here. It's dryness is immediate, with a bitter hoppiness developing deeper and deeper in the mouth.
F- Bitter/dry, even hints of sourness. I suspect it needs all of the body/richness 7.4% brings to pull the hops back *towards* the centre of the taste/feel zone.
O- It's still notably very hoppy and dry though, you need to be serious about hopping levels to relish this one. On the plus side for more mature drinkers, it doesn't hit you with a sledge-hammer of contemporary hops that taste of tropical fruits. It's trad, hoppy, dry, and powerful. Interesting to try, but a bit hoppy for me vs more trad equally high ABV% ales etc.
BB 27/09/2020 330ml bottle. £2.05 bought from Tesco or Waitrose.

What a nice change of pace. This English IPA does what they should - provide a nice bitter experience.

It pours dark golden with nice lacing. The aroma is moderately hoppy. The taste goes to that bitter place and leaves a thickness on the tongue. Very satisfying.

Recommended.

If you happen to be craving an English IPA you could go for this. Spicy floral hops pair with caramel malt. Nothing too exciting but I understand that only American hops could revive the style

A 330ml bottle with a BB of Dec 2018. Acquired a little while back from Waitrose. The label states this this beer is packed with Fuggles and Goldings from Kent.

A: Poured into an IPA glass. A rich, hazy orange-amber hue with faint sediment and good carbonation. Produces a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before subsiding to a patchy surface layer.

S: Aroma of grassy hops with hints of hay, leafiness, mild herbs/spice, subtle orange peel, vague fruitiness, caramel malt and ale yeast. Decent, though the hop character is quite understated.

T: Tastes of grassy hops with notes of spice/herbs, hay, leafiness, mild orange peel, caramel malt, subtle barley sugar, ale yeast and a fruity undertone. Slightly sweet, followed by a crisp, lingering bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and decent body. Mildly astringent. Aftertaste of bitter grassy hops, spice, leafiness, caramel malt and ale yeast.

O: Rather nice, though perhaps not as good as their original IPA. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour possess a grassy, leafy bitterness underpinned by caramel malt and ale yeast. Body is OK. Not a stand-out IPA but goes down readily enough. Worth sampling.

Slightly skunked citrusy vitamin fizzy supplement aroma

I aggressively poured the 330ml bottoe into a Duvel tulip, and got a solid 3 inches white bubbly head that faded as I am now writing.

Appearance is amber, smells very malty and sweet.

Taste: it's a small hop bomb ! Herbal, not overly bitter and fairly quaffable for a 7,4%abv English IPA.

Overall, another ''dank'', pleasant IPA. As I said, it's a new release and if you dig the style with a kick you can buy it. You won't be blown away, but if ever in the UK or Europe, give this a try.

From Club del Gourmet of El Corte Ingles. In Teku glass. After dinner. Caramel, not much fruityness, some yet not excessive bitterness.

330ml bottle.
L: Amber colour with no carbonation visible and a thin, bubbly head.
S: Sweet and malty but very light and short-lived.
T: Syrupy with heavy, herbal hops. Low bitterness.
F: Medium body with a dry finish. Bit gassy. Disappointing mouthfeel for 7.4% ABV.
O: Dank and herby strong pale ale. Very earthy. Poor mouthfeel. Nothing special for all that alcohol.
