Poured into a mug, the appearance was a dark red almost brown color with a white rocky foamy head. Some stringy lace. The aroma had some roasted malts, clean and sweet touching some caramel, toffee and nuts, light dark fruits and some apples. Mild milk chocolate, sly vanilla. And then some citrusy crisp hops. The flavor touches the sweet side initially and then picks up portions of some controlled bittering hops. It’s there, I can taste it. Shows some effort to want to blend, but mostly stays apart. Some clean balancing roasty malts and bitter hops try to blend into the aftertaste. Quick malty sort of dry finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV felt right. Overall, pretty good as an American styled brown that is a seasonal that held up to when it did for me.

On-tap. Tumbler glass. Enjoyed on mar´12. Brigh dark brown, ruby to the light. Clear. Light beige, small size bubbled froth. Creamy, foamy crown. Very good retention. Slightly earthy, toasted malts & cocoa to the nose. Toasted malt, dark fruit flavors.Gentle bitterness.Medium body, soft carbonation.Slightly moody wood finish, hints of chocolate.Flavorful, refreshing & drinkable.

The brew is clear reddish brown, has a high compact warm off-white head leaving good lacing, and some curtains.
Smelling of malts, nuts, hay, grass.
Sweet brown bread, some syrup, egg yolk, red berries and lemon peel.
Medium carbonation, small foamy bubbles, smooth, oily, a dry finish.
Very rich and rewarding multi-dimensional brown ale.

A: Pours deep reddish brown with a medium-large off-white kind of light head that sets into decent lacings.
S: Roasted sweet caramell malt with a hard-candy like sweetness. Rich hops, both floral and bitter. Citric fruits; oranges, lemons and grapefruits. Buttery in a English way.
T: Roasted malts. Sweet and fruity. Oranges, lemons and grapefruits. Bitterhops are stronger compared to the smell. Buttery and creamy.
M: Body is medium while carbonation is mild. Aftertaste lingers with a roasted and bitter feel.
O: Nice, not too obvious American hops. Very drinkable.

Half pint in the Greenwich Union, Meantime Breweries tap house:
Deep, dark brown body, ruby red when held up to bright daylight, thin tan coloured head.
Hop aroma, unusual for a Brown Ale (even an American one?), malts take a secondary place in this smell that’s for sure.
American Amarillo hops give it that smell and impart some bitterness into the taste as well; there is a chocolate, maltiness within the flavours too, this gives the beer some balance, but it doesn’t sit quite right in my eyes. I’m sure the brewer would say it is complex, I’m saying it’s a mish mash of a brew: not unpleasant but neither here nor there in its make up.
Different, but not relly my sort of thing.
