Drank 9/3/25
Pour is deep brown, bordering black. Khaki head with decent retention, but great lacing.
Nose is coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, bittersweet chocolate
Taste follows. Bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt, hints of caramel, vanilla, nuts.
Carbonation is a bit higher than I’d expect and body is a bit lighter than typical Baltic porter.

Tasty beer! Body is a bit lighter than expected, probably attributable to the ANV being lower than stylistically appropriate. But tasty all the same!

Good Baltic Porter. The can is a bit confusing in that, while the beer is called a Baltic Porter, the further description calls it a "traditional....Baltic lager". In any case, this is a Baltic Porter not a lager, and it is good!!! Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer has a completely dense black color and a small dark brown head. Head retention is about average and there is some good lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste include malt, chocolate, coffee and a bit of lactose. There is some mild bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is moderately light and smooth (with a bit of lactose). Quite enjoyable.

L: Had this beer on-tap at Third Street Brewing Company, poured into a pint glass. Had a dark brown / black color and an opaque consistency. There was a small amount of creamy, tan-colored head that quickly dissipated. Not much lacing.

S: A subdued, kind of uninteresting aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and dark fruit.

T: Tasted of a small shot of hops (mostly in the finish), a good amount roasted malt, light chocolate notes, a light smokiness, lactose, and a tinge of dark fruit (plums, perhaps?). Like the aroma, the flavor was just uninteresting. None of the ingredients (save the malt) were given a chance to shine.

F: A well-carbonated beer with a dry, smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: This beer has its good qualities, but doesn't quite succeed. Could have been better.
