Our most experimental IPA yet features two new experimental hop varieties that both give off big tropical notes , and a creamy mouthfeel from the use of flaked oats, and wheat in the mash. We enhanced the mouthfeel even further using maltodextrin, so that our plant based and lactose sensitive pals can enjoy this beer as well. No lactose, no problem! this tropical milkshake treat was finished by conditioning on vanilla and prickly pear fruit, because, uh, why not?!

What the heck is ‘feel’?? Apparently I should have asked for more direction on how to do this.
Okey dokey, bear with me here folks cause this is a first attempt by someone who is inexperienced in this world and was challenged by another member to post this. So here goes…
To be totally upfront the ‘milkshake’ in the name sold me, even though I knew this was beer and not going to taste like ice cream. One can dream though, right? (Is a beer float a ‘thing’? Enquiring minds kind of want to know but I have no ice cream on hand.)
First thought when I tasted it. This is bitter, strong tasting beer, but as I drink it somewhat speedily, I don’t pick up on that so much anymore.
It has an amber hue with a cloudy appearance, as in you can’t see your fingers on the other side of the glass. Is that normal??? I could have sworn I could see through most beer but maybe I just haven’t been paying close enough attention.
It presented with a fruity, flowery type smell at first but now it’s dissipated. The description on the can notes that they finished it with vanilla which I cannot taste, but maybe that was the flowery smell at the initial pour that my amateur nose can’t detect now.
It had a thick head that filled half my glass. Could be my fault though, as I had difficulty getting the can out of the black plastic holder they use. As it goes down it left minimal residue on the glass.
The carbonation bubbles in this beer seem very fine to me. Unfortunately I don’t have the experience to know if that is ‘even a thing’ but hey I’m trying. Would I drink this again? If I was a betting (wo)man I would say yes, because I have 4 more cans in my fridge.
Thank you for the challenge biboergosum. I look forward to your upcoming Instagram post ;)

Uniformly hazy pale orange golden with finger of bubbly just slightly off white head.
Piney nose - strongly tropical and citrus hops - grapefruit, ripe orange with an earthy, somewhat floral note.
Sweet citrus, tropical fruit, cereal malt, herbaceous, followed by lemon and grapefruit peel - moderately floral, leafy and a slightly sharp hop bitterness.
Medium yet slightly creamy mouthfeel - sharp, crisp carbonation with a lingering lemony grapefruit peel bitterness.
