From the brewery's website:
"Cheers to five years of barrel aged sour beers! We are happy to still be continuing the tradition of blending finished beers to create something new and exciting. We hope you enjoy this special blend. Cheers from the Pretentious Team!
5 year anniversary blend is a blend of 8 of their different finished beers to create something new and exciting."
The blend is the following:
Juvenescence (20%)
Indigenous (20%)
Diaphanous (10%)
Cuvee de Somm (10%)
Exultation (10%)
Ginger and Lime (10%)
Speculation (10%)
4th Anniversary (10%)
L: Muddled and muddy medium orange with a burnt hue to the color; the head is small and bubbly and, like most of its kind, doesn't care to linger
S: Sour (obviously) with a hint of funk and acidity; fruit notes vary from strawberry to sharp citrus to something like apricot with oak and definite hints of brett
T: Brett up front with the fruits, similar in profile to the aroma, with oak lingering underneath adding some tannins to the acidic sharpness that maintains steadily; a touch of vanilla rounds that out and it's moderately sour overall, sitting at a median as far as the array of sours on the market today
F: Sharp, not lacking smoothness but with a definite bite in a medium-ish body; plenty of carb without overt spritziness
