Pours a toasted straw color with a soapy white head that has decent retention.
The aroma has copper notes to go along with some toasted grain and a general hop scent.
The taste is of toasted malt and light grassy hops. Some pine bitterness in the finish.
Light to moderate feel with semi-soft carbonation. Lightly bitter throughout the palate.
Standard APA. Needs more flavor from the hops.

Served from tap into a (relatively) clear Solo pint (473 ml) cup at the Jamesport Farm Brewery in Jamesport, NY. Farm fresh in a manner of speaking.
A: Pours a slightly hazy, invitingly amber to light copper color with a one to two finger head, solid retention and decent lacing.
S: Aromas of citrus (mostly lemon and grapefruit) and pine overlay the caramel maltiness.
T: Fairly dry. Elements of palate follow nose, but caramel malt backbone predominates on the flavor side. Moderate bitterness, but definitely stands out and contributes to crisp finish.
M: Light to medium bodied. Solid effervescence throughout.
O: First time at Jamesport. Color me impressed, this APA was on a par with most everything in the class I have tried. I will acknowledge I was surprised by the subtlety and complexity. No wonder it is their flagship. See the prior ratings, so I am guessing it’s possible the recipe was tweaked since August 2018.
While I was drinking it, The Saw Doctors’ Hay Wrap kept running through my head.
