a really interesting take on a gose here, with white grape and hibiscus added, two things we dont see together often enough. the base gose is light in malt body and flavor, so the modest salt and mineral complexion really shines through, and there is a distinctive citrus note to the lacto souring aspect, which is cleaner here than it is in their raspberry berliner, but not quite all the way refined yet, still real close. they were smart to keep the hibiscus subtle here, its lightly fragrant, floral, and citrusy, but stays away from the heavy sprayed perfume thing, a very nice accent flavor, and sort of cut off at the right time by the bacterial acidity on the back end. it really does have a rose wine quality to the flavor, the white grape has a nice tangy sweetness, and there is the tart skin aspect too, with a bright freshness and natural character, accentuated by the hibiscus really well. the salt adds the needed minerality, it seems essential for uniting the flavors and it does its job really well. a good back and forth between the grape and the sour, really nice flavor trajectory, and dry but mouthwatering as it finishes with a uick spurt of carbonation. overall a smart and appropriately delicate but highly unique gose. these guys are absolutely killing it here in the early going, all their beer is great right now, and this was one of the best! not to be missed!
