Barleywine made for Liquor World aged in Eagle Rare barrels
Pours a small fizzy head with low retention, semi hazy dark candy-apple-red to deep ruby colored
Nose farily sweet, caramel and toffee, candy-apple, fair fruits a bit of apple pear like pome fruit and some dark red plum-like fruits, candy sugar, a bit of vanilla and very very light bourbon, waxy fruit
Taste brings rich malts again, big caramel, toffee, candy-apple again, a bit of smooth but perfumey alcohol, mild spicy hops, more reddish fruits, a little cherry plum kinda, also red apple and pome fruit mix, a bit of toasted sweet bread crust notes and toasted malts, actually some sweet bourbon characters, a bit of vanilla barrel notes, finishes semi sweet with med spicy bittering hops, a more sweet candy malts and a touch of barrel
Mouth is med to fuller bod, a bit lush, some warming alcohol, lower carb
Overall not bad, but not great either, base barleywine is decent but not a lot of barrel which is quite disappointing being an Eagle Rare barrel and all
