Got this from my neighbor for the my 40th a while back. Cheers!
From a bottle into a snifter
EBC: 29
EBU: 60
Hop: Bramling Cross
Yeast: Safale US-05
Collaboration with HOP
APPEARANCE: Pours a two finger, looser looking, foamy off-white head with good retention. Maroon red with lots of carbonation evident. Head eventually recedes to a full, creamy cap and coats the sides of the glass.
SMELL: Lots of caramel and toffee malts, red berries, melon aromas, some grassy hops, as well as a decent spicy alcohol character as well. Bold.
TASTE: Caramel, toffee sweetness, some spicy rye malts, melon notes and some grassy hops and alcohol at the swallow. Bold finish of melon, caramel and toffee sweetness, grassy and herbal hop flavors, rye spices and some alcohol linger nicely on the palate.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Semi-creamy on the palate, goes down fine and finishes a touch mouth-coating. Some heat lingers.
OVERALL: Solid stuff. The spicy flavors of the rye malts and alcohol work well together, while the sweet malt flavor is very enjoyable. Good for sure, and well worth checking out if you’re a fan of the style. Thanks again!
