Look - Poured into a snifter, this BYS variant is jet black and visibly thick. A fizzy one cm head forms upon pouring but dissipates almost immediately.
Smell - Fudge and bourbon strike are the first things I notice. There is also a roasty depth to the aroma with a touch of burnt marshmallow.
Taste - Thick fudgy chocolate melts over your palate after the faintest hint of salt kicks off the taste. From there the bourbon takes over and dances with coffee and marshmallow, though none were used. The pretzel finally hits on the aftertaste, but is noticeable and unmistakable.
Feel - This beer looks thick and feels equally viscous. It is not cloying and doesn't destroy your palate, but it drinks like a fine melted chocolate.
Overall - Fantastic execution here. All of the flavors are present and distinct while a high quality imperial stout supplies the base. The bourbon compliments the whole more than overwhelming it. Very enjoyable.
