Collaboration with Goose Island Beer Co.
The first of two collaborations with German brewer Freigeist Bierkultur, this one brewed in Franconia, a region of Germany known for their smoked (rauch) beers. Light smoke, bready malt, fruity/spicy hop flavor and great drinkability.

10/25/18 (Chicago): $5 16 oz. draft pour, 4.2% ABV, served at the GI Taproom into nonic glass. (Note the correct name for this beer is A Friend of the Devil, per the GI menu). Golden murky pour, light carbonation and quickly dissipating white head. Very nice smoky malt aroma. Smokey malt taste, pepper as well and hints of grass. Very nice taste. Light mouth feel clean crisp refreshing. Overall solid beer.
