a totally different kind of beer than i am used to from these guys, not sour like all their others, maybe only minimally tart, and more from the fruit it seems than from any real developed bacterial element, more drinkable as such, and a really nice showcase of the guava, which stands well on its own here. hazy pale beer with a nice head from the tap, cool to find this on draft in denver, finns gets all the cool stuff! smells sweet and a little tangy, very tropical from the guava, very natural, but pretty pronounced in here. a little fresh orange juice sweetness too, seems to highlight the guava well, a soft wheaty base, simple without the fruit for sure, less interesting than most of their stuff that i have had, but equally tasty. pulpy and fleshy and juicy from the fruit, summery, not what i think of when i think german beer normally, but its a total success. a bit of a surprise from these guys, but they have used the fruit expertly well, and it needs nothing else. well done for a crusher...
