Pours a brown'ish deep, dark amber coloration with a small, fizzy head that soon fades to nothing. Smells of bready malt and juniper, with just a hint of citrus coming through as well. Taste follows the nose, with with the bready malt and juniper dominating, but with a stronger citrus fruit: orange note coming through, as well as quite a spicy rye presence and lighter herbal accents. Finishes quite dry, with a light bitterness and tartness, as well as some juniper lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and light/medium carbonation.
I never had an Agua de Valencia, so I can't be sure how well they managed to emulate the eponymous Spanish cocktail here, or where the Juniper comes in, for that matter. However, this seems kinda undercarbonated and lacking in a strong orange note for what they were going for. Still, it's a rather interesting concotion that, while heavy on the juniper and rye malt, is still well-balanced with quite a dry and slightly tart character, a light orange juice note and strong spicy/herbal accents.
