Our English Mild Ale. Not a common beer to find in the United States, but well known and available at many pubs in the U.K. This session ale features delicate English malts that showcase caramel, nutty, dark fruit, and chocolate notes. We initially brewed this beer to share with our friends and neighbors. As a result, we named this beer after the intersecting streets where this beer was often enjoyed with friends and neighbors.

A - Pours a very dark mahogany, slightly transparent, with a very light tan head, fading to a wispy cap and rim. Small clusters of bubbly lacing run down the glass after I take a swallow.
S - Lovely range of bread notes from the malts, grassy spice hops, and a touch of limestone minerality.
T - The taste follows the nose closely, with lovely dark bread notes with molasses, and savory earthiness joining a tea note in the middle, with the tea advancing through the finish, introducing a subtle tannic aspect of bitterness to close things out.
M - Moderate weight and soft carbonation reminds me of the English ales I got in the pub. Very clean finish.
O - It seems pretty obvious why this one won awards. Subtle, delicious, and easy to tilt back. Exactly what you want to drink with a bunch of friends. If BKS were local to me this would never be out of stock in my house, for certain.

I had this beer at the brewery poured from tap into a tall pint glass. Dark mahogany color with a thick creamy light brown head and excellent curtain lacing. Smell and taste of dark roasted malt. Pumpernickel toast with figs. Earthy. Smooth silky feel. Really nice dark mild!

Pours a dark brown that is nearing murky, but still lets light through the outer edges when held against a light. Head is two fingers of easy-forming khaki foam with good retention and lacing. Aroma is biscuit, toast, and earthy malts. Flavor profile is more biscuit, toast, and earthy malts with an additional of caramel malt. Lovely malty body, but is far from sweet or thick. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a smooth, velvety texture that slips down smooth and easy. Overall, a flavorful dark mild that delivers a pleasant dose of malts without being overly done or complicated. Just nice simple sipper, well done.
