Pours a translucent dark burgundy-brown that shimmers below 2 fingers of off-white foam. Head retention is good. Aroma is nutty, caramely, toasty malts with a hint of espresso. It finishes slightly dry. Flavor profile is nutty, caramely and toasty with that espresso adding both a touch of bitterness and depth to it. Finish is lightly sweet via the caramel, with dryness just nipping at the tongue at the finale. Light and tight throughout. Mouth feel is thin with a little bready, moderate carbonation. Overall, sublime English dark mild paired with espresso to add a little edge. It doesn't lose its character despite the flavor addition.
