Pours a pale orange with a soft coloration to it. Translucency is opaque. Two fingers of white foam. Aroma is grapefruit, orange, and mango with doughy malts and fruity yeast. Soft, but not as firm as most NE IPA's despite the notable and forward tropical fruit notes. Flavor profile is a little more full, hitting orange, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, and melon dew, alongside some rindy grass and herbal notes. The rindy hop notes come more forward as the tropical fruits fade. Doughy, bready malts and fruity yeast again. Tropical fruit NE IPA intro with a more balanced finish. Mouth feel is medium with a chalky texture. Surprisingly still in effervescence. Overall, citra is great, with a strong hop start that fades away to reveal the malt groundwork just below.
