This BKS Morningside variant pours a very deep brown that’s *almost* black. A brown head forms, then dissipates after a few minutes. Minimal lacing.
The aroma is complex - milk chocolate and hazelnut up front, then the roast from the coffee shows up when inhaling deeply. The taste has more coffee in it than the aroma, but there’s still a good amount of hazelnut chocolate to balance out the roasted bitterness. This is a well-made stout that includes its pastry elements without being gimmicky.
