O - An extraordinary pour, fat near white head, super dense, over an opaque milky orange body.

S - A charging blast of peach and tropical fruit, pineapple and mango, with an undefined citrus, mostly pith and zest notes.

T - Opens with a wash of soft pineapple and peach, dropping into a juicy orange grapefruit middle, and a softly bitter juicy finish, with grapefruit yielding to a hint of peach that lingers.

M - Soft carbonation and substantial weight, not burden and highly drinkable, without any lingering dryness.

O - They were down to singles at the brewery with this one, and I’m so glad to have gotten one. Delicious.

The initial release of Strata-fied Layers pours a yellow-gold; a large, off-white head that lingers and leaves a great amount of delicate lacing. The taste has an almost nutty flavor before the orange and mango takes over. Finishes light and creamy.

Purchased from the brewery 4/3/2021.

I received this beer from Jay, thank you, my friend. I am the first to review this beer. My first beer from this brewery. I do not recall drinking any beer with strata hops in it. I am looking forward to seeing what this beer is about. The beer is 44 degrees and served in a tulip glass. The pour of the beer created a lovely bright white three-fingered creamy and airy head with excellent retention. As the head slowly dissipated it left massive lacing on the glass. I am in awe of the head retention. The color of the beer is SRM 4, pale straw with light golden hues. This beer is hazy and I cannot detect anything else. This beer is elegant.

I first pineapple, grapefruit, and pine resin. Nosing further, I detect toasted bread crust, lemons, floral ester, phenols, and a touch of pharmaceutical. The beer is dominated by these aromas. I do get a subtle honey-like sweetness, and a touch of herbal later on.

The flavors I detect are toasted bread crust, mango, pineapple, floral esters, phenolic, honey-like sweetness, herbal, pine resin, and grapefruit rind. At the end of the beer, I taste bready/yeasty and earthiness.

The mouthfeel of the beer is astringent, chalky and a touch slick.

The body of the beer is medium, medium carbonation, and fuller finish.

This IPA is freaking awesome. The flavors are bright and the malt backbone holds the hops well. Well-made beer with a beautiful appearance. Thank you, Jay, this beer is amazing.
