Pours a pale orange with a matte hue to it. Transparency is opaque. Head is two fingers of fluffy white foam. Aroma is a little lactose sugar sweetness followed by guava, tangerine, and orange zest. Doughy malts show up behind, with the tropical fruits heavy, but not dominating. It has a little more hop-malt back-n-forth than other NE IPAs, although this matches the lighter ABV well. Flavor profile is guava, tangerine, apricot, and orange zest with a steady lactose sweetness underneath. Tropical fruits are ripe, full, and divine here. Some yeast phenol spiciness adds a touch of dynamics to the otherwise sugary blend. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a crushed velvet that remains tightly woven and consistent throughout. Overall, punchy tropical fruits without the huge after taste or heavy weight. Despite being 6.5% ("low" for the NE IPA style), it packs in a lot of flavor, and still leaves you able to converse afterwards.
