A - Pours opaque black, with dark brown in the highlights, a tan-brown head, medium height and quick to fade to a thin wispy cap of bubbles and a rim, some lacing, but it slides slowly down the glass, back to that rim.
S - Strong hit of smoky roasted malt notes, a bit of umami, with some bittersweet chocolate, and a touch of earthiness.
T - Follows the nose, with smoky malts in the front, over a molasses bread core, chocolate highlights, and a mildly bitter finish that lingers.
M - Mild carbonation and substantial body, slickness on the tongue, and a lingering presence after the close.
O - An impressive stout that offers depth and flavor while not amping up the alcohol or introducing a lot of adjuncts. I wish there were more straight ahead stouts like this one on the market. This certainly delivers.

Pours balck with three fingers of fluffy caramel-colored foam. Aroma is bread, caramel, toast, and mild earthy malts. Flavor profile is a little more caramel sweetness right out front, with bready, toasty, and earthy malts behind. Very mild. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a light fuzzy texture. It's soft. Overall, a mild stout with some good roasty notes, balancing a little sweetness with roast.

On nitro at BKS. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left sudsy sheets of lace on the glass. It smelled of oatmeal, chocolate, coffee and toffee. Nice roasty stout with coffee, chocolate and oatmeal taste.
