(review from January 2025) WOW! Where to begin? Easily the darkest barleywine I've ever seen plus huge bourbony/whisky/caramelly/toffeeish/leathery/etc.etc. too many flavors to mention; great palate heft; lovely sweetish, lingering, mouthcoating aftertaste as well as a warming, whiskyish Easily makes the, "beer-wall-of-fame"!

Pours a super dark brown with no head. Oily top. Aroma is fig, toffee, leather, oak, char, caramel, and late dark fruits. It smells deep and complex, without coming across as bitter or muddled. Flavor profile is fig, toffee, and leather out front. Smooth oak pairs with sweet molasses and biting barrel to add both complexity and sweetness to the center. Brownie batter latches on to the end, especially as the beer warms. Deep and reflective. A mild vanilla note comes on as the beer warms. Mouth feel is thick. Texture is flat and oily. Overall, an amazing and intriguing barleywine.
