Barrel Aged Barleywine – Our barleywine was aged in Blanton's bourbon barrels for a total of three full years. We find classic Blanton's tasting notes of warm vanilla, rich spiciness, toasted nuts and subtle citrus peaking through our barleywine base that lends bold notes of toffee, fig, and nuanced dark chocolate. We then conditioned this barleywine on expert roasted gesha coffee from El Socorro Farms in Guatemala. We selected this world-class gesha coffee for its similar aroma and flavor profile to the Blanton's bourbon and base barleywine. The idea being that the beer, barrel character, and coffee work together to create an elevated barleywine drinking experience, without any one part being dominant. Bottled 2-15-25.

(review from March 2025) See previous review of Recollection 11/22/24 & add a nice javalicious note. Oh dear sweet, Jesus H.Tap-Dancing Christ, this easily makes the 'beer-wall-of-fame' with barrel aged flavor to spare & an extra 1/4 point for the wax-sealed-pull-tab so I don't have to dull my knives or break my fingernails , etc. just to get the wax sealing off the damn bottle cap!!! (other breweries, "take notes"). Again, where to begin on the flavor profiles except to say, "Goodnight Irene, indeed!"
