Pint glass at the brewpub while passing by in July 2005. Presented a one-finger nearly white head over a cloudy caramel rust liquid. Smells of oranges and tangerine with a mild apricot beneath. Tastes, wow, quite hoppy bitter. This is more of an IPA than a pale ale. My guess is Amarillo hops, based on the orange and tangerine flavors, plus I get a bit of a crystaline sugar/cotton candy flavor that I've found in Amarillo hops. Grain flavor is pretty far in the background (caramel, vienna), as is malt sweet (apricot and maybe some pear). Medium mouthfeel and moderately carbonated. Nice easy drinking on a summer evening.

Wow! This is one of the best looking beers i have ever ordered. Bronze in color with an excelent finger of head spilling over the pint glass.

hoppy nose (Liberty?) with a freshness that lends itself to the malt that hides in the background.

The taste is a rush of malt followed by a mouthfull of hops tha penitrate every nook of the pallatte.

Great mouthfeel, great drinkablity, especially with the free bowl of chili they offer on friday nights.

Color is a nice cloudy deep golden yellowy brown with a inch high stark white head thats super loose and bubbly on top, more compact and thick towards the base. Lace in huge sticky/webby sheets all over the place. Smell has a small toasted grainy like malt and some light citrus and herbal hops. Taste is well balanced upfront with a raw almost burnt like toastyness in the malts then hops take charge with a nice tight little bite of bitterness. Hops add some light touches of citrus and dried spicyness. Feel is nearly full with grabing hops just over the middle and lingers some. A pretty decent pale with some nice complexity and balance. Thanks to bditty187 for the big Ol' bottle!

Semi-clear, brownish hue. Fluffy white head, served with slightly less than a finger’s worth. Good head retention. Thick lacing. Nicely hoppy nose… citrusy hints, rindy... distant maltiness. The bouquet has mild potency yet it’s inviting. Nicely bitter palate, good assertiveness… hoppy! Citrus/grapefruit influences, noticeable maltiness, some lightly toasty caramel. Tasty! Borderline IPA-like, definitely APA in nature. Ideal carbonation, firm mouthfeel. Very drinkable, absolutely lovely… I’d drink this anytime, anyplace. Recommended.
