This beer is a super dry, deceivingly strong beer that was also a popular beer for us at home. To me, yeast selection is just as important to a Belgian beer as hop selection is to make an IPA, so it took years for me to find the right strain. So, to make this beer exactly the way I liked in bigger batches, I had to send my house Belgian yeast strain to Escarpment Labs to be grown up to commercial sizes. It’s a 6.5% ABV Belgian Blond ale, with all of the aromatic characters you would expect from a Belgian beer.

Hazy gold with agood head and cap. Fruity, yeasty nose. Smooth medium Belgian yeast body with a hint of banana. Easy drinking. Excellent beer!

A saison yeast ..and that's it. Sample from bottle shared with Brian. A homebrew experiment? No complexity, a basic yeast and end of story. Not so drinkable.

Veiled dark straw color with moderate activity. Foamy white 3 finger head, lasting around 5-10 minutes, with mediocre legs but decent swirl reaction and lacing. Flavors of sweet grains, barley, apples, peach, clove, light caramel, Belgian yeast, and floral hops. Slick and smooth medium body with crispy carbonation. Medium strength finish, a bit fruity but more grainy and spicy with balanced hops. Well intensified and attenuated. Pleasant freshness with good complexity. Nicely balanced. Overall high quality craft.
