Seasonal offering listed as an "English-style IPA". Personally, I dont believe in English-style IPAs as the English abandoned the style centuries ago and by the time American brewers revived it in the 1980s with floral northwestern hops, the legacy was broken and the new interpretations surely bore no resemblance to the pale ales made famous by trans-oceanic journeys of the 18th century.
Still, Im not inclined to turn down a good pint of any professed pedigree and Moped Rider is an admirable drinking companion. MR is a brass colored beer with an elegant sudsy head, a broad presentation of cottony lace and no particular aroma. As an IPA its not distinguished, but as an English-style pale, it delivers snappy core bittering with modest lemon-rind hop flavor and a drab lingering finish that purists will relish. Its gentle body lends itself to cozy sessions.
