My guess is that its not hard to keep those fermentation tanks nice and cold during the dark months in Big Horses basement brewery. Perhaps this contributes some authenticity to this late winter seasonal that scores high for its spiced, grainy aroma, tall head of inspired foam, and zesty Saaz flavor. I like how the name suggests a remedy for the winter blues, but Prescription also earns marks for its clear, sunny-yellow color and sheet lacing. It does tend to hang slightly on the tongue in the aftertaste, but this is otherwise as close to authentic as any American pilsner is likely to get.
