First had: on tap at their brewpub
Poured brownish black in color, nearly opaque, with a small cap of beige head. Aroma was pretty typical of your basic stout: dark malts, roasty, notes of chocolate and coffee. Taste--at first--was pretty basic as well, with a nice smooth, dark roastiness. Just when I began to wonder "where's the chocolate?" it hit me, as an aftertaste of pure cocoa powder filled my senses. Very nicely done! On the heavier side of medium-bodied, not quite full, but nice and drinkable overall.
