way out of left field for these guys, a wild ipa? never would have anticipated this sort of thing from a brewery i know for ipa. i really didnt find this sour, and am not sure its really soured on the front end, if it is, its rather well restrained, not all lactic and intense, still drinks like ipa, just with a little tangy funk late, which makes my mouth water when i smell it and i think highlights the hops in a unique way in the flavor. seeing this as a collaboration with trinity, which may have been true a long time ago when it was made the first time, but there is no way the version of this that is around right now is from ten years ago, and i dont even know if trinity really exists anymore, thought it got sold while back, are they still open and doing funky things? anyway, its cool to get to drink something like this, and its real good. surprisingly clear, and with an airy bretty looking white head on it from the tap. it smells tart but not crazy, a little grainy which keeps it grounded, and quite a lot less bitter than a lot of their beers generally are, light pine, gin, and fresh orange in the mix here, a little tropical with some fruit forward funk, lightly grassy too, mature but not woody. the flavor is awesome, the ferment is quite complex, to me a little more almost saison rustic character and funk than straight up souring bacteria, but it seems mixed. subtle hints of vinegar, stone fruit, and green grapes, with a nice nutty malt backing and an airy texture, only middle of the road bitterness at the end, piquant and fast, refreshing for being so flavorful, and i like it being restrained overall, like i think this is drinkable by the pint and overall its not like other beers in this style space, almost a little more old school with the hops but also dry hoppy. id love to know a little more about it, ingredients, process, timing, yeasts, but the result is fantastic, drinks lighter than it sounds! dont miss this one. maybe the most ambitious beer ive had from these guys...

Draft at PreFunk. Pale golden, clear, small creamy head. Aroma is light tart citrus, limes. Tadte is more lime, citrus, mild tartness. Quells the heat of the Hot Blonde.

Appearance: Pours a brilliant golden color with a modest head; spots of lace dot the glass
Smell: Funky horseblanket, crusty bread and tropical fruit tones
Taste: The funk and crusty bread flavors are quickly joined by the lactic sourness of the tropical fruit flavors; funky finish with a slightly lactic character lingering
Mouthfeel: Medium body with low to moderate carbonation
Overall: An interesting blend of the funky, the sour and the hoppy
Thanks, JohnGalt1, for the opportunity

I've been really enjoying some of the hoppy sours coming out lately, but while this has that great Barley Brown hoppy nose on it, it just doesn't follow through in the flavors on the same level as Hose, Batch 60, Funky Gold Mosaic, etc.

Take pallet jack and throw a little sourness into it and you have this beer. I really wish they would've done this to Handtruck instead

On tap at ABV. A gratis pour, since the keg kicked as they poured it. This was a collaboration with Trinity.
A clear light orange with a dense, off white head with excellent retention and nice lacing, this looks great. For a first attempt, this is a very respectable wild ale. It seems to be the Pallet Jack base but fermented with a mix of Brett and lacto, lending a wonderful tropical fruitiness from the hops that pairs well with the fruity Brett notes. Earthy and mildly clove like Brett characteristics are present. On the palate, this is pleasantly and mildly tart with Brett spice and funk, earthy and mildly mushroom like with a moderate hop fruitiness. Medium light in body with moderate carbonation, this beer is drying, mildly funky and mildly fruity on the finish. Pleasant, enjoyable, but lacking in clear focus or definition.
