Slightly hazy yellow color body. Small off white head.
Aromas of wheat bread and slight floral type hops.
Taste..similar..bit metallic.
Mouth feel is pretty OKAY for style.
Kinda meh to be honest.

a hoppy wheat from these guys, much less robust and distinctive than i have come to expect from these guys, but drinkable and fresh enough. this is the first time i have seen this one around at all. its got some haze and some density, but also a little bronze shade to it, not just pale wheat here, some crystal barley malt as supplement as well. it smells fresh, grainy, a little doughy, and just a bit bland to me, although fresh. the hops have a sweet orange and lime zest essence, but the hops are well behind the grain, which is also true when i taste it, and they are all at the end too, on the swallow, a touch of pine freshness, clean citrus, and some bitterness that pulls up some minerals too. the grain really drives this though, lots of wheat, a toasted and cooked aspect to it, earthy enough, dry too which is nice, just tastes a bit muted or tame for these guys, who always make such flavorful beer. this is like a wheat pale ale or something with the hops on the end, balanced but unremarkable for me, and seemingly not quite as refined as their best work. maybe its my palate, had a couple of bold ones before this, but this just didnt really stand out as anything too distinctive. ill check it out again when i see it next to be certain.

Taster at taproom. Hazy golden pour with soft soapy head . Nice sweet bread aroma, biscuits. Very smooth texture, more mildly sweet bread notes. Really good

 

 

 

I had this beer on-tap in a mug at Special Brews in Lynnwood, WA.

Appearance: light golden hue with a dash of haze and a strong effervescence. Head is a thin layer of white foam. Decent.

Smell: lightly sweet and grainy with a dash of fruitiness. It works for me.

Taste: sweet with a bit of graininess but without a ton of character.

Mouthfeel: medium light body with a good carbonation and a decent creaminess.

Overall: it's low key but rather refreshing. This would make a good lawnmower beer.

 

 

 

 

Coyote Peak is perhaps the best beer in Baker City. It is certainly one of the most popular, especially among women. (I always notice what women drink. You should too.) Bartenders can hardly slice the lemons quick enough to service the need for orders on this beer.

This is a clouded pale wheat beer complete with obligatory lemon wedge. It has a flourish of orange sweetness that nods into a hoppy bitterness, followed by a bready aftertaste. Collectively, this composite forms a slight stylistic variation on the historic theme of German wheat beers. Head and lace are both absent, but ultimately the result in this instance is a compellingly drinkable ale that is very clean and well composed.
