On tap at Barley Brown's 1.11.11.
Dark brown opaque body with minimal head and zero lacing. Big coffee hit in the nose, no chocolate, good dose of citrusy hops for balance. The coffee certainly comes through front and center in the taste, not overly strong, well balanced by the hops. Mouthfeel is a bit on the light side of medium, not a lot of effervescence, fairly dry finish. Tasty, not overwhelmingly coffeeish, really drinkable.

Brewed with espresso, this is sort of a speedball ale. Its the darkest of brown, just a nod less than black, and has no head or lace. A modest smell of roasted beans intermingles with something sadly amiss.
Whats good about this beer is good. Fine ingredients for example. But whats not good about this beer pulls it hard in the opposite direction. Thus the flavor has both nice roasty properties and fundamental brewing problems intertwined. Pass.
