i have still liked ever beer i have had from these guys, they just seem to be killing it, especially with the hoppy stuff. i havent been the biggest brut guy so far, but this is simple and dry and really well hopped. its got a pils malt type base, that pale and light to look at, and minimal in stature, but with some cool earthy flavors and a light toasted aspect to it maybe. it sets the hops up well, but they arent huge, not green or overdone or anything, well proportioned, citrus and ripe melon aspects to it, kiwi fruit too, and some spruce. clean and fresh and as botanical as it is fruity to me. the yeast doesnt have much flavor, which contrary to popular opinion apparently, is a good thing in my eyes. its just clean and dry, and so the beer finishes fast. a touch of hop bitterness, but also more citrus playing than alpha acid there, and wonderful carbonation to wash it all clean. a well made beer of course from these guys, cool hop profile and balance, and some unique malt character that hasnt had a place in this style for me before now. give this one a try if you are like me and still not sold on brut ipa across the board, its a bit of a different take but a really good one. sneaky strong too, drinks like a session...

On tap at Claudia's in pdx today.
The beer pours a golden amber cilor with pretty decent hrad retention and lacing. The is pleasant and straight forward, as I pick up black pepper, onion and a hint of dry citrus. The flavor profile replicates the nose in this easy going, uncomplicated, easy to appreciate ipa. The finish is dry, clean and lightly bitter. Mouthfeel is fairly light and the alcohol is pretty much undetectable.
This is a nice enough beer, though for barley brown, this is a somewhat disappointing effort. I'm accustomed to stand out, in your face beers from BB, and this is none of that. Probably would not order this again, which is something I rarely say about a BB beer.

On tap at New Seasons in Cedar Hills.
Mildly hazy straw yellow with a thin white head that falls off rapidly leaving little lacing this looks solid. The nose is peachy, juicy, mildly orange juice like with a touch of green grassy hops. A cracker like malt character is present. The palate opens moderately bitter with pine and grapefruit zest, grapefruit pith. This is followed by a peach and grape like note. The mid palate is bitter but not really oily or resiny. Drying, bitter, pungent on the finish with a ton of hops, this beer is light in body and softly carbonated. The soft carbonation is actually appropriate here; too much higher and the acidity from the carbonic acid would hamper the enjoyability of the hop flavors.
