Presentation: 32 oz. crowler, served in a weizen glass.
Appearance: The dense, tan colored, two and a half finger head stays around for a while and leaves behind a lot of patchy lacing. it's a clear, bright, reddish dark brown color.
Smell: It's a beautiful aroma of fresh, toasted bread, cocoa powder and there's even some sweet notes of molasses and dried plum in the background.
Taste: A filling, toasted bread note hits the palate right away and that's followed up by a touch of brown sugar sweetness and some bitter flavors of dark roasted coffee beans and very dark chocolate.
Mouthfeel: It's medium bodied, creamy and very smooth with medium-low carbonation and a dry finish.
Overall: This is an awesome doppelbock that stays true to the traditional style. Very well balanced, smooth and just a joy to drink. Excellent job as usual from Zurc.
