Presentation: 32 oz. crowler, served in a can-shaped pint glass.
Appearance: The loose, bubbly, one finger head stays around for a bit and leaves behind a lot of thick lacing that covers the entire glass. It's a murky, oxidized gold color.
Smell: There's sweet passion fruit and grapefruit, a touch of dank pine resin and some malt sweetness towards the end.
Taste: A strong, tart passion fruit flavor hits right away and persists through the long finish. It's not exactly bitter but a dank, hop resin notes show up on the edges of the palate as it goes down. There's also some other fruit flavors of grapefruit, orange and lemon.
Mouthfeel: It's medium bodied, soft and pillowy with medium low carbonation. Despite the strong fruit note it doesn't get cloying. The finish is moderately dry.
Overall: An absolutely delicious beer. It leans more toward a fruit beer or sour beer than a true IPA but that's not a bad thing. There's a strong, passion fruit presence throughout and it's just a joy to drink. If you're a fan of passion fruit, this is going to be right up your alley.
