My understanding is that Thundermuck is essentially the same beer as Bills 2x4 Stout only brewed with locally roasted coffee beans. This explains the name though I detected only a modest note of coffee in the flavor. The aroma actually has a sweet honeydew maltiness to it unusual for a stout. It also tastes sweeter than most stouts though not necessarily from an infusion of lactose. It is neither dry nor especially roasty but has a crumb of toast in the finish.
Thundermuck is inkish black with a slight brownish hue. The pint I drank may not have been ideally fresh. It featured minimal head, lace, and carbonation, and the mouthfeel was limp. Readers familiar with the folklore surrounding Alaskas Matanuska Valley might get a chuckle from the name Thundermuck.
