Had on tap at Plymouth. Listed as 11.5%. Pours opaque, dark brown in color with minimal head. Taste is dry wood, roasted malt and fig. Heavy body, low carbonation, slightly bitter. Really good sipper. was expecting more depth of flavor but still a well done beer.

This beer has a dark brown appearance similar to a Hershey chocolate bar. My sense of smell isn’t that great, but I can see where the description of burnt sugar comes in. The taste of burnt sugar comes out and mellows out quite a bit. I like a heavy mouth feel beer but this is smooth and refreshing. The fact this is an 12% sneaks up on you, it doesn’t have the syrupy mouth feel that some higher proof beers have. All in all I really enjoyed it.
