This is probably an American Pilsner given the Citra hops used, but there is no such style on this site. It’s not too far off from the German Pilsner description, though.
On tap at brewery:
Translucent straw body gets a fair, but not as large or lasting a head as hoped. Carbonation is a little light, but it adds a softness so that’s a bear wash.
The scents combine a dry white bread scent with a citrusy lean. I get a little bit of drying grass, too, and wonder if it’s me or if there are some classic German hops also used.
Taste brings the Pilsner malts as expected. The bitterness follows the nose, specifically with a grapefruit edge. There’s a little lingering sweetness carrying to the back of the taste to cut the moderate bitterness a bit.
A nice twist on the classic style that doesn’t stray too far from tradition but has enough to distinguish it as different.
