Poured into a 13 oz tulip glass canned on 12/11/2020. Pours a very dark brown, with a 2 plus finger light brown head that leaves scattered lace all over, with nice retention. 4.25

Aroma bourbon, Oaked vanilla, cocoa nibs, toffee, and hints of coffee. 4

Taste follows bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, toffee, and some roasty coffee. 4.25

Mouthfeel is a little bigger than medium, a tad dry, gentle carbonation, and at 10% it drinks a tad bigger. 4

Overall I would recommend this one, very nice BA Imperial Stout that definitely has a good amount of barrel lingering. Thanks @jzeilinger for this can. 4

A - Dark brown pour with a light caramel colored lacing ring and lots of legs on the sides of the glass.

S - Chocolate roast, chocolate char, Bourbon, and oak.

T - Chocolate roast, chocolate char, vanilla, caramel, oak Bourbon, and a slight bit of oak astringency.

M - Thick body that's silky soft and some lip smacking stickiness with slight warming on the way down.

O - Rock solid and I'd definitely buy this again. Recommended.

Putting a sweeter, silkier and stronger coat on their original, Fretboard Brewing chooses their Nati Dread Imperial Stout for such bourbon barrel aged treatment.

Basic black in its pour, a frothy looking espresso emerges from the snifter. Drawing in the nose with its luscious coffee, chocolate campfire and nuanced spice scent, the first sip reveals much of the malty promises that spoke to the nose. Molasses, chocolate, toffee and toast slathers the early palate with a rich and dessert-like sweetness.

The sweetness slowly releases over the course of the middle palate to reveal a slightly smoky tone of burn toast, French press coffee, roasting walnuts, burnt sugars and an overall soilish roast. Remaining malt focused for the duration, the beer trends bittersweet, earthy and with a slight peppery bite. Hints of vanilla, caramel, cherry and bourbon fuel the spice that linger long and lush on the late palate.

Deliciously smooth, silky and delightful, the beer does carry a roast derived, and oak derived astringncy that plays out in finish like light ash. A long linger of campfire, cocoa and aspartame sweetness persists in aftertaste.

From the tall boy can in a snifter. This fine stout pours a
deep blackish brown with cola highlights and a decent head of
light tan foam that settles to a thick ring, thin clumping pool, and
shows some subtle lacing. Nose of coconut, vanilla, fudge, bourbon,
and subtle coffee. Flavors thankfully follow the nose since it is so appealing--
toasted coconut drenched in caramel and dark cocoa fudge with coffee
bringing up the middle of the palate that is lightly touched by char
and given a nice dose of rich bourbon and vanilla on the sides
and rear of the taste. Touches of tobacco and leather grow
with warmth giving more depth to an already impressive
brew. Nice mouth feel; light carbonation verging on
medium light, medium full body, lightly coating,
and finishing lightly dry and warm. Overall
This is a solid little brew from a great
local brewery.

Cheers-----one love!
